TOM SAWYER
STORY
Huckleberry Finn's ideal of freedom remained unattainable for me – but in Tom Sawyer, I recognized myself. Tom was my role model; sometimes I thought I was him. Because it was also almost unbearable at home, I sought adventure outside – far from adults and their banalities.
Tom & Huckleberry Finn tell of freedom, friendship, and courage. I have captured this memory in paper, steel, wood, and brass – as in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
DESIGN
Bolsters made of brass – like Tom's doorknob, which became a treasure. Handle made of American walnut with resin-sealed book pages from a 1954 Mark Twain edition. The etched carbon blade, shaken in gravel, bears traces of an adventure: raw and honest.
CHARACTER
A unique piece for all who have kept their inner child – a reminder of childhood, friendship, and freedom.
